It’s hot in Canada…
Lytton, British Columbia – it’s a village that has broken a couple of records this week. On Monday, the mercury hit 47.9C – that was up from 46.6C on Sunday. Before this week, Canada had never registered temperatures above 45C… “We are the second coldest country in the world and the snowiest,” said David Phillips from Environment Canada. “We often see cold snaps and blizzards but not often do we talk about hot weather like this.” Over the border, the American cities of Portland (46.1C) and Seattle (42.2C) have reached the highest temperatures since record-keeping began in the 1940s.
