Note to subscribers – two months in
There’s a bit of a story behind it…
Not long after starting The Squiz, we got an email from a terrific daily news email targeted at young American women called theSkimm. They were concerned our logo and materials were too close to theirs. We didn’t think they were, but as a gesture of goodwill we decided to make some changes. The new look website is up (thesquiz.com.au) and tech gods willing, a new look email will be in your inbox tomorrow morning. We loved the original Ms Squiz and we’re sad to see her go, but onwards and upwards. Yuuuge thanks to Krull D+A for the logo and ATLAS for their ongoing digital and tech support. And we still love theSkimm, despite this bump in road.
We’ve just ticked over the two-month mark of Squiz’ing. Hooray! Three things we’ve learned in the last month:
1. Fingerless gloves are awesome for keeping your hands warm at 4am while also allowing you to type.
2. Our officemate, a French bulldog named Tucker, can do an epic eye roll. It’s true! Or maybe we’re a bit fatigued
3. Like anything worthwhile, getting across the international news can be hard work, but it’s been really rewarding. It’s all so darn interesting at the moment. We hope we’re communicating that via The Squiz.
Our favourite podcast Chat 10 Looks 3 featuring ABC’s Annabel Crabb and Leigh Sales gave us a plug at Easter. It drove many engaged subscribers to The Squiz – amazing. And when Leigh tweeted that The Squiz was her favourite morning news summary, well our hearts almost stopped. So exciting.
Now that we’re done big noting ourselves, THANK YOU. We know you have been busy recruiting friends, family and colleagues to sign up. The Squiz will only work if we can continue to grow our subscriber list so please spread the word – we’re grateful for every signup.
