Taking off the crown

And the hits just keep on coming for Crown Resorts… Executive chair/former Howard Government minister Helen Coonan and Melbourne chief Xavier Walsh will leave the company by the end of the month. The lawyer for the Victorian Royal Commission into Crown’s suitability to hold a casino license said last month that there needed to be change at the top – and investors appeared to agree, with Crown’s share price heading up by 1.68% following the news. And looking west, the Royal Commission into Perth’s Crown Casino yesterday heard that despite being made aware of money laundering concerns in 2014, the company had failed to properly investigate them until the NSW regulator started sniffing around last year. Victoria’s Royal Commission’s final report is due on 15 October, while Perth’s is due in March next year. #SquizShortcut
