Bitcoin heats up

Bitcoin is rallying, with its price jumping 50% to US$​​46,000 from recent lows of US$20,000. After a run of bad news for cryptocurrency holders, there’s renewed hype that Bitcoin will hit a valuation of US$100,000 by the year’s end. Experts say that’s because regulation isn’t viewed as a bad thing – instead, it’s giving investors more confidence in the market. In recent times, China has clamped down on cryptocurrency mining, and the US and Oz are among many nations looking at regulations to protect investors against volatility and shonky operators.
