Pop star Billie Eilish has opened up about having Tourette’s syndrome, saying she finds it “exhausting”. The 20yo was diagnosed with the neurological disorder that can cause uncontrollable vocalisation and movements at 11yo. And in an interview with talk show host David Letterman for his new Netflix series My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, Eilish said while most of her tics have subsided and she doesn’t do it while performing, she expressed frustration that people don’t get her. “The most common way that people react is they laugh because they think I’m trying to be funny. And I’m always left incredibly offended by that,” she said. Letterman admitted he “was guilty of that,” thinking “Oh, she’s fed up with me”. The Grammy award-winning artist responded by saying it was “interesting” that “so many people have it and you’d never know”, with other artists privately sharing with her that they also have the syndrome.
