Bob Dylan sued for sexual abuse

A woman identified as JC has filed a lawsuit claiming the Nobel Prize-winning singer-songwriter sexually abused her in 1965 when she was 12yo. She alleges that he gave her drugs and alcohol and “exploited his status as a musician” when he groomed her over 6 weeks. It’s left her “emotionally scarred and psychologically damaged to this day,” she says. JC is seeking compensation and submitted the lawsuit just before a legal window to make a claim closed. Dylan, who was around 23yo at the time, denies the allegations, and a spokesman said he would be “vigorously defended”. He is now 80yo and has sold more than 125 million records. Last month, Dylan won a lawsuit over his song catalogue’s US$300 million sale to Universal Music Group.
