The Met Gala is over for another year, but there’s plenty of ‘turquoise carpet’ action to follow as the opening ceremony for the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest kicked off in Turin, Italy yesterday. In the spirit of the quirky competition, Norwegian duo Subwoolfer rocked up in matching golden wolf outfits, Italy’s Mahmood bared his ‘he-vage’, and Aussie Sheldon Riley stood out in an all-white ensemble complete with a feathered cape and bedazzled corset. And Ukraine’s 6-piece Kalush Orchestra – who are currently the favourites to win this year with their song Stefania – turned up in matching black suits with Ukrainian flags in tow. Keen Eurovision fans can tune in to SBS at 5.00am tomorrow to watch the first semi-final – Riley is competing in the 2nd round on Friday morning ahead of Sunday’s grand final. Those not morning-orientated can always tune in to the prime time broadcasts.
