• Soz but NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian says she doesn’t think Sydney’s COVID outbreak has reached its peak as the state clocked 233 new local cases yesterday. Of those, 93 were in isolation while infected. Two deaths were also recorded, including a 27yo man who was said to be fit and healthy before catching COVID.

• Victoria ate donuts but then recorded one new local case yesterday as Queensland’s outbreak became the biggest since the first wave hit last year. It added 17 new local cases, which puts a cloud over its lockdown ending on Sunday afternoon. And Western Oz recorded a ‘weak’ local case yesterday – officials are working on getting to the bottom of the FIFO worker’s situation.

• Modelling released by the Federal Government on Tuesday found young adults were “peak spreaders” of the virus and should be the priority for the vaccine rollout. But yesterday, COVID-19 Taskforce Commander Lieutenant-General John Frewen says supply and demand issues means the December timeline for getting under-40yos Pfizer’d can’t be sped up, but the AstraZeneca jab is available.
