And in sport…

STATE OF ORIGIN – Game 2 has been run and won by NSW in a dominant performance over Queensland in Brisbane last night, taking the game 26-0. That’s also given them the series. As for game 3, it’s scheduled for Sydney on Wednesday, 14 July. So, shrugging lady emoji…

TOUR DE FRANCE – The 108th edition is off and racing… Starting on Saturday in Brest, competitors will cover 3,414km before arriving in Paris on 18 July. Slovenia’s Tadej Pogacar won it last year, and he’s favourite to do it again. France’s best chance is Julian Alaphilippe, and he’s had a good start taking out the first stage. As for the Aussies, Richie Porte, who came 3rd last year, can’t be overlooked, pundits say.

WIMBLEDON – The tennis classic starts today after COVID saw it cancelled in 2020. Two years off the grass will be tricky for some, experts say, but it’s where veterans like Serena Williams and Roger Federer could come to the fore… The top seeds: Novak Djokovic and Ash Barty (c’mon…). A good rundown on getting you set for the fortnight is here.
