Bring on the Paralympics…

With millions of Aussies in lockdown and chasing the Tokyo Olympic Games’ high, the wait is nearly over. Tomorrow is the Paralympic Games opening ceremony ahead of the competition starting on Wednesday and continuing until Sunday, 5 September. Riding along with the Games is the ‘WeThe15’ campaign – a worldwide push to end the discrimination faced by 1.2 billion people with disabilities, aka 15% of the population. Backed by the International Paralympic Committee, Aussie athletes like Ellie Cole and Kurt Fearnley are voicing their support. The campaign’s vibe: “don’t say that these are superhumans because they are wonderfully human and wonderfully normal,” said Fearnley. The campaign’s brilliant ad is here.

And if you’re counting the sleeps until the start of the Paralympics, the Sport Today podcast team have you covered with a Squiz Shortcut on how it works and who to watch. Check it out why don’t cha.
