How and where do you Squiz?
I'm breaking the stereotypes of my generation because I read the newsletter rather than listening to the podcast - at the bus stop and on the bus, with music on, on my way into the office every morning.

What keeps you busy?
Watching Sex and the City with my housemate, going to the gym, calling my sister, and getting drinks after work.

What do you like to do in your downtime?
I love to read - memoirs and essays are my favourites at the moment - and I make big batches of pasta sauce to keep in the freezer.

Give us 4 people (living or dead) at your ultimate dinner party
This question has been weighing heavily on me, but final answer: Jane Austen, Eve Babitz (circa 1970, if I get to pick), Nora Ephron and Stevie Nicks.

What's something you've seen/read/listened to recently that you'd recommend?
On the Eve Babitz theme, I finally read Didion & Babitz by Lili Anolik recently, and it's the sort of book you want all your friends to read so you can talk to them about it. I'm also constantly listening to Charli XCX's latest album Music, Fashion, Film - it just makes every day better.

What's been in your social feeds lately?
Always lots about makeup and fashion, plus tattoo inspiration and the #imissmyfriends posts I send to and receive from my long-distance besties.

What do you consider to be an overrated virtue?
Not gossiping. It's information collecting, it's usually for the greater good of the social world, and it's fun. And if you're just recounting a series of reasonably verified facts to your trusted confidants, is it really even gossiping?

What would you say is the most overlooked news story Aussies should pay attention to?
Oh gosh, some days the list feels never-ending, but I'd say government rules and transparency around lobbying - it touches on a lot of the issues I feel concern about at the moment. Some days it seems like there are really common-sense steps forward that are being ignored for reasons completely out of the general public's control.

What's one thing you would tell your younger self?
I'm still quite young, so I'm trying to listen before I hand out too much advice. But if I were speaking to school-aged Sophie, I'd tell her to chill out a bit - your grades do matter, but you have worth outside of them, and things are going to completely work out.
