After mediation talks and a whole lotta drama, Australia Post has agreed to pay former boss Christine Holgate $1 million for terminating her employment from the government enterprise last year. Holgate was seeking $700,000 and an apology over the stink that was kicked up by her taxpayer-funded purchase of $20,000 of Cartier watches as rewards for senior execs. She gets the sauce, but not the sorry… In a statement, Australia Post said it “regrets” the circumstances of Holgate’s departure, but it won’t admit any wrongdoing. It added it “wishes Ms Holgate the best in her future endeavours”. Which happens to be heading a rival company…
