Role Overview

The Squiz Content Manager will strongly contribute to our roster of newsletters and podcasts. They will be involved in preparing for and publishing these products across the week, working closely with the Managing Director and commercial/growth/engagement teams.  

Location: This role is based in Sydney. That shouldn’t deter you from applying if you’re not based here -  support flexible working arrangements but regular time in Sydney would be required. 

Responsibilities and Duties

Content 

• Writing/preparation of the Squiz Today newsletter and podcast
• Share hosting duties on the Squiz Today podcast 
• Scripting and hosting other newsletters and podcasts as required, including Squiz Shortcuts
• Participate in our content planning on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis

Collaboration

• Collaborate with the broader Squiz Media Team (Squiz Kids, Sport Today, Politics Today) to deliver cross-brand content efficiencies
• Work with the commercial team to deliver quality and relevant partnerships across The Squiz. This requires involvement throughout the process, including concept ideation, pitching, scripting and delivery 
• Work with the Growth/Engagement team on social media executions based on content generated for The Squiz

Since launching in March 2017 with the Squiz Today newsletter, we have grown significantly to add podcasts, new content verticals, and support for the commercialisation and growth of our products. We are unique in the Australian market as a newsletter/podcast-first publisher. 

The Squiz Today is where we started with a newsletter in March 2017 and a podcast in May 2018 - it’s a shortcut to being informed about the news. Those products command a monthly audience of 320,000 people - mainly busy women aged 20-65yo+. Last month, Squiz Today ranked as the biggest commercial news podcast in Australia.
