Britney set to speak
Popstar Britney Spears is expected to address the Los Angeles Superior Court this morning Aussie time in a highly-anticipated hearing on her ongoing conservatorship. It will mark the first time in 2 years that the 39yo has addressed the court on the arrangement that has seen her father Jamie control her finances and big life decisions for 13 years after a very public breakdown. While Spears has mostly stayed quiet about the arrangement, confidential court records obtained by the New York Times recently revealed the singer has been pushing for years to end it – a goal backed by the fan-driven #FreeBritney movement. Her lawyer says she is “afraid” of her father, and she hasn’t spoken to him in a “long while”. Spears hasn’t performed since 2018 and has threatened to stop performing if her father stays in the position.
