Wrapping up the year in music

Spotify and Apple have both released their most listened-to music of the year. And once again, Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny was Spotify’s top artist for the 3rd year running, with his hits generating more than 18.5 billion streams and his album Un Verano Sin Ti taking out the #1 album spot. Rounding out the top 5 were music chart mainstays Taylor Swift, Drake, The Weeknd and BTS. Harry Styles’ inescapable hit As It Was was named the world’s most-streamed track on the platform (as well as in Oz), while Apple Music listeners preferred Justin Bieber and The Kid LAROI collab Stay. And Australia is clearly full of Swifties because the pop giant was our #1 streamed Spotify artist, with The Kid LAROI being our top homegrown talent. As for our own musical preferences? We would share our Wrapped list, but we fear it says too much about us…
