NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian yesterday confirmed colour-coded rumours that Greater Sydney and surrounds will stay in lockdown until 16 July as the state recorded 27 new local COVID cases. With the centre of the outbreak now shifting from Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs to its southwestern suburbs, Berejiklian said it was “really, really important” for residents to stay at home, or “further actions” could be taken. Amid growing pressure from the business sector, Treasurer Josh Frydenberg yesterday said that JobKeeper won’t make a comeback, but those eligible will have access to $10,000 disaster payments. After meeting with big business yesterday, he said there could be some “exciting” incentives for the vaccinated, which will be “more than a snag at Bunnings”. Good luck topping that…
