NSW Police are concerned about reprisal shootings following the execution of a crime boss in an underground Bondi Junction car park yesterday. Alen Moradian was killed in his car around 8:15am in what Detective Superintendent Danny Doherty called “a well-planned execution murder of a high-level criminal identity”. Moradian, also known as ‘Fathead’, was previously jailed for his part in the ‘Golden Gun’ syndicate that moved more than 300kg of cocaine in 2005-06, and also made headlines for his predilection for $1 million in Versace home furnishings (paid for in cash, of course). In the hours after Moradian’s killing, police found two burned-out cars, including a partially destroyed grey Porsche that police say had a gun inside. Despite the risk, Sydneysiders were told that the targeted gangland killings – at least 18 in the city since late 2020 – pose little risk to the general public.
