Sydney ranks among the world’s most exxy cities…

It won’t surprise many Sydneysiders, but the Emerald City has been named the 10th most expensive city to live inThe Economist Intelligence Unit’s annual Worldwide Cost of Living report says living costs have jumped by 8.1% in 172 of the world’s major cities over the past year, thanks to the war in Ukraine and supply-chain issues. While Sydney tied with Denmark’s Copenhagen for the unenviable #10 spot, New York City and Singapore tied for 1st place, followed by Tel Aviv, Los Angeles, Zurich, Geneva, San Francisco and Paris. That’s despite the latest real estate data from CoreLogic reporting a further 1% drop in Aussie home prices in November. It’s the 7th consecutive monthly decline, led by falls in Brissie and Hobart (-2%), Sydney (-1.3%), Canberra (-1.2%), Melbourne (-0.8%) and Adelaide (-0.3%). Perth stayed on par, while Darwin prices rose 0.2%. Just in time for another rate rise…
