Déjà vu at the Emmys
There were few surprises and just one major snub at TV’s night of nights. As expected, the highly nominated Succession was again crowned best drama series, and Ted Lasso took out the comedy series crown. Squid Game‘s Lee Jung-jae became the first Asian star to win best male actor in a drama. And last year’s smash hit The White Lotus went off, taking home the Best Limited Series, Best Director and Best Writing gongs, as well as recognition for the performances of Jennifer Coolidge (who pulled off some impressive dance moves…) and Australia’s own Murray Bartlett. The moment of the ceremony: Abbott Elementary’s Sheryl Lee Ralph became the 2nd black woman in Emmys history to win best-supporting actress in a comedy. That voice OMG… You can check out the complete list of winners here. And more importantly, here’s the red carpet photo gallery.
