Cricket legend puts down the bat

Aussie cricketer Aaron Finch has retired from international cricket, calling his 12-year career in the green and gold “a pretty amazing ride”. The 36yo former T20/One Day International captain says it’s time to make space for fresh talent ahead of the T20 World Cup in 2024. It’s not entirely out of the blue – there was speculation Finch was about to call time after doing a hammy in October’s T20 World Cup… But he’s going out on a high as Australia’s most successful T20 batsman, and he broke several big records – including one of his own.
