As if we needed more proof that Sam Kerr is a football superstar… The Aussie scored twice as her team took home their fourth consecutive Women’s Super League title in the UK. Chelsea beat Reading 3-0 on Saturday, with Kerr’s teammate Guro Reiten also scoring a goal. It was the cherry on top of a big week for Kerr after she was named the Football Writers’ Association Women’s Footballer of the Year on Friday for the second year in a row. Kerr also seemed delighted last week when the Matildas confirmed they’ll play games in Perth – her home city – against Iran, Chinese Taipei and the Philippines in October-November, as the team preps for the 2024 Paris Olympics. “To be able to come home again with my teammates will be a really special moment,” she says. Quite frankly, she deserves to play wherever she wants…
