Los Angeles police are still investigating what motivated a 72yo man to allegedly kill 10 people and wound 10 others in a mass shooting at a dance studio during Lunar New Year celebrations. Huu Can Tran was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound inside a cargo van after a standoff with police on Sunday – officers found evidence linking Tran to the fatal shooting in Monterey Park, and another incident a at dance studio in nearby Alhambra. At that venue, a gunman was disarmed by a group of people before fleeing. Reports say Tran had been a regular at the Star Ballroom Dance Studio, where he met his ex-wife. Officials have begun to name the victims, most of whom were in their 60s and 70s. US President Joe Biden sent his condolences to their families and ordered flags on government buildings be lowered to half-mast until sunset on Thursday in their honour.
