Tough talk from Putin and Zelensky

Both Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin have addressed their people this morning. Putin said his “special military operation” is “going according to plan“. Meanwhile, Zelensky has appealed to the West to do more to close the airspace over Ukraine to prevent Russian aerial bombers. “If you do not have the power to close the skies, then give me planes,” he said. Talks between Ukraine and Russian delegations are set to resume this morning, and Zelensky has challenged Putin to meet with him. “Sit down with me. Just not 30 metres away,” he said, referring to some extreme long-table talks last month. Russian fighters are progressing across Ukraine – except for the massive convoy that was zeroing in on the capital Kyiv – it remains stalled, reports say. The United Nations refugee agency says a million Ukrainians have fled the country in the week since Russia attacked. Also evicted was a pro-Russia audience member of ABC TV’s Q+A program overnight…
