Behind ‘Inventing Anna’, ‘Grand Designs’ is back, and a dinner showstopper…

If you watched Netflix’s Inventing Anna, it’s hard to shake the lead character’s German/Russian accent. One expert says actress Julia Garner, aka Anna Delvey/Sorokin, did a great job. The other thing we wanted to know about was how legendary TV creator Shonda Rhimes landed on the positive portrayal of the conwoman. If you wondered that too, here you go.

A new season of Grand Designs is out on Binge. It’s great to have Kevin McLeod back – until you get to December 2019 and you know the pandemic is coming and the bank is about to default on the special line of credit needed to waterproof the elaborate home… It’s high stakes TV.

And in the spirit of autumn, we dug out this Ottolenghi recipe for a 5-spice butternut pumpkin with cheesy custard. Before you recoil in horror, we can tell you hand-on-heart it’s amazing. And it makes for an impressive side dish, or serve it with some greens and carbs to make it a meal.
